Unforeseen Hardship

There may be times when you are facing unnecessary pressure on your household budget and or a change in your circumstances. In these instances you may feel the need to speak to us about reviewing your payments to us.

If this happens you are to contact us in writing, presenting your case for hardship. Please note: if your account is in already in default, but provided that you have not been in default for more than two months and that you have not missed four consecutive payments, then we are able to accept such an application. Please also be aware that you are unable to make another application for Hardship for a further 4 months.

At this time we will do the following

1. Inform you of what information we require to assess the application and the timeframe in which we will do so

2. Perhaps advise you to contact an independent budget service – most of these are free and maybe able to help you to develop a payment plan

3. We will take note of any proposed payment plan you may have and the time frame of the suggested plan. Naturally at this time we would take into account your payment history with us

4. Please note that if you reduce payments and or miss payments your loan completion date will increase.

We try to make the process easy, but at the same time we are mindful that your budget has to allow for the costs of running and maintaining the vehicle that we supply, not just the weekly loan repayment. All vehicles must be insured, we are able to arrange cover in most instances.

Furthermore we acknowledge that your circumstances may change from time to time so please keep us updated on changes that may affect your ability to service your loan with us. If things are becoming difficult for you to make your payments we would rather that you contact us and make a payment arrangement than not – which may lead to repossession of your vehicle.
